I have graduated from a nursing schoo why is it hard finding a job?

I have graduated from a nursing school as a lvn in last year. It has been a year since i graduated all i can do is volunteer at clinics and been putting out resumes. I'm at a job where i didn't major in at a retail store. Why can't I find a job as where i majored in? I'm thinking of going to RN but since i'm not good at math I can't become one as i failed 1 math course but i got lucky and graduated as a LVN. I got a LVN licence that is being wasted for nothing.
