What are the differences when it comes to the duties of an lvn and an rn?

I'm curious because I'm seriously considering going to nursing school for one of those careers. I'm also thinking I may prefer to become an LVN for now and an RN later. Please help by educating me more about the duties of both and the pay may help too since we all want to earn a paycheck! =) Oh yeah I live in Texas.
