To have sex or not to have sex?

One of my best guy friends, Aaron is gorgeous, inside and out, and I've had a secret crush on him for as long as I can remember. We were talking today about a party he's having tomorrow night and I'm not sure even why this came up, but we were talking and he said something along-the-lines-of "Maybe if you're lucky I'll have sex with you." ... What was that?! I just laughed it off- but I don't know if he's serious or what. I DO want to have sex with him, preferably sober and preferably if he's not going to be a tool. Advice?
