The university i want to attend doesnt have the courses i want?

so they put the course on the request list, done. but i was thinking instead of wasting time, not doing anything really, i should study to become an LVN, my ultimate goal would be becoming an autopsy tech, they also call it, morgue assistant. its basically being under the supervision of a medical examiner, like an assistant. so i was thinking maybe some sort of nursing background wouldnt hurt when the time comes and they finally have the course i want, good idea of bad idea, or pointless idea? help.
