My crush's grandmother just died. How can I comfort him?

You see, my crush ( I call him a crush even though we both like each other and we say love ya and stuff. I don't know why were not dating.) was just in California because his grandmother was dieing and she died. I want to know how to comfort him without being insensitive. Please help.
